About "sakartvelo.com"
This site - "sakartvelo.com" - was created in 1995 - 1997 by Giorgi Topouria, who at that time was a graduate student of the School of Journalism at the University of Missouri. This site started in the fall of 1995 as a class project for one of the courses. It soon became the most complete collection of Georgia-related information available on Web at that time and for two years sakartvelo.com was the definitive site about the country.
In August 1997, Giorgi graduated and returned to Sakartvelo, where further development and maintenance of sakartvelo.com web site ended.
