About "sakartvelo.com"
This site - "sakartvelo.com" - was created in 1995 - 1997 by Giorgi Topouria, who at that time was a graduate student of the School of Journalism at the University of Missouri. This site started in the fall of 1995 as a class project for one of the courses. It soon became the most complete collection of Georgia-related information available on Web at that time and for two years sakartvelo.com was the definitive site about the country.
In August 1997, Giorgi graduated and returned to Sakartvelo, where further development and maintenance of sakartvelo.com web site ended.
In 2005, Giorgi and his wife - Irina founded sakartvelo.com LLC - a consulting company, which in 2005-2009 worked with a number of international and Georgian clients on several design, communication, research and management consulting projects in Tbilisi.
Currently, Giorgi is back at the University of Missouri, where he is working on his doctorate in strategic communication.
