The Georgian public organization the "Former Political Prisoners for Human
Rights" has established a home page at "http://www.gdn.org/fpphr/". The home
page includes the October and November issues of the organization's
bulletins.

Below is some introductory information about the organization:

The public organization the "Former Political Prisoners for Human Rights"
was created on March 18, 1996.

The society is obligated to defend the human rights and freedoms declared
in the legislation of Georgia and upheld by international human rights
organizations.

The Society aims to expose the violation of universally recognized basic
human rights and freedoms in Georgia. To prevent such violations, the
Society will take this information to the responsible bodies of the
Georgian government and relevant international organizations. The
Society's priorities in its work are:

   a. Defense of the Human Right to life and against the use of the death
penalty;

   b.Struggle against torture, other cruel and inhumane treatment, and
abasement;

   c. Struggle against racial, religious, national, and ideological
discrimination and for the freedom of speech;

   d. To defend citizens from state officials who violate the citizens'
constitutionally guaranteed rights.

Again, the home page is at "http://www.gdn.org/fpphr/".

Regards,

Jeff
